Site Engineer, Mechanical & Electrical, NSW, Australia

Due to new projects and new growth opportunities in Australia, our Client, who is an established European Material Handling Manufacturer, is looking for a Site Engineer to carry out both Mechanical and Electrical installation of equipment.

You will work with the team onsite to provide services the customer has ordered. You will coordinate site activities, manage the site and manpower during installation, commissioning of new equipment, testing, ramp-up and acceptance phases.

Interfacing with our main office, you need to prepare jobs and tasks on site in advance, take fast and efficient corrective actions, check material on site, handle order and deliveries, recognize tools and specific procedures and specialist workers to perform each task before and during the installation on site.

This role reports to the Project Manager. While analysing the schedule for possible improvement and optimization, you need to issue daily and weekly progress and promptly report to Project Manager on any potential delay.

What You'll Need:

You will need to have at least 5 years experience in Field Service/Site Engineering for Capital Equipment.

As you need to verify equipment drawings and electrical diagrams, you will need to be able to read and understand electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, machine layouts and manuals

It would be good if you have a basic knowledge of an Allen Bradley PLC and SEW Inverters, as you will be dealing with Inverters, electric motors, sensors, photocells and 400/230 Volts electrical cabinet,

Good communication and interpersonal skills are required to coordinate with customers and experts at the head office for any support needed, while also executing daily meetings with the customer concerning all activities and proper monitoring

You are customer focused and service-minded with expertise knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or in industrial automations.

Lastly this is not for the faint hearted! This is a role in a small town near Orange and being a Site Engineer also means that you will be living on site for the period of your project.
