Logistics Operations Specialist/Manager (Semiconductor Manufacturer)

About the Role

We are representing our client in the Semiconductor Manufacturing industry. This is a pivotal hire as part of a major expansion and space optimization initiative, marking the first logistics operations role based in Johor. The Logistics Ops Specialist/Manager  will be responsible for setting up and driving operations for a new regional hub that will support Singapore’s prime logistics network.
The role will oversee the setup of hub operations, manage an existing Malaysia warehouse, and ensure seamless cross-border material flow to Singapore. Initially an individual contributor role, there is potential for growth into people management as the organization scales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hub Setup & Management: Lead the establishment and operations of the new Johor hub, ensuring alignment with regional supply chain strategies.
  • Warehouse Oversight: Manage the existing Malaysia warehouse that supports strategic buys, including inbound, outbound, and inventory control.
  • 3PL & Vendor Management: Drive third-party logistics providers (3PL) in daily execution, capacity planning, productivity improvement, and continuous process optimization.
  • Import/Export & Compliance: Oversee cross-border processes between Malaysia and Singapore, ensuring compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
  • Process Optimization: Improve trucking and replenishment flows into Singapore; spearhead consolidation, densification, and warehouse migration activities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Singapore operations, supply chain, IT, packaging, industrial engineering, and data teams to enhance efficiency and introduce automation/technology solutions.
  • Performance Management: Establish KPIs and scorecards, monitor execution, and drive corrective actions with 3PL partners.
  • Strategic Contribution: Align with leadership to support corporate initiatives and introduce best practices in logistics operations.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in logistics operations and service provider (3PL) management.
  • Proven track record in warehouse operations, vendor management, and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of import/export requirements and compliance in Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to manage stakeholders and build cross-border relationships.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information

  • Travel Requirement: Up to 50% before and during operations startup, reducing to 25% post Go-Live (primarily between Malaysia and Singapore).
