Regional Commercial Director – IMEA

About the role
Accountable for building and strengthening business development capability across the region, working closely with the Business Unit General Managers and the Regional Leadership Team. This covers creating business development strategies and establishing the right people, processes, and technology enablers. The role also leads regional new business growth, driving opportunities with global clients across multiple customer segments as well as with key regional customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as part of the Regional Leadership Team, contributing to the creation and execution of regional strategies and plans—both Operating Plans and the Long-Range Plan—to support the company’s Purpose and long-term aspirations.
  • In partnership with Global Business Development leaders and fellow Leadership Team members, design and roll out regional customer segment strategies that align with global priorities and reflect our Purpose-Driven approach.
  • Build strategic customer plans and cultivate strong relationships that position the business as an industry leader.
  • Enhance and expand business development capabilities across the region—encompassing People, Processes, and Technology. Utilise existing tools like Account Planning and Value-Based Selling, and introduce additional tools where needed to strengthen commercial effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with Regional and Global teams to translate customer needs into aligned actions, ensuring excellent customer service and achievement of business objectives. This includes active participation in sales and operations planning across the region.
  • Recommend and implement strategies for identifying the right customers, setting optimal pricing, and driving sustainable growth.
  • Ensure the product portfolio remains aligned with customers’ changing needs and broader market trends and insights.
  • Confirm that volume expectations, lead times, and sales terms are clearly defined, communicated, and adhered to.
  • Oversee key performance metrics and maintain consistent, transparent communication on progress and results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university required, masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in business development, partnership management, or related role, preferably in the food industry.

Additional information

  • This role requires significant travel across the region (75% travel)
